I have had Matt dyno all three of my bikes and what I like the most about having the bikes done is the peace of mind I get from knowing that all of my mods are improvements and not the other way around. On one of my bikes, my dealer changed pipes (stage 1 with the OEM flash) to something I thought looked really good, not only that, they were called “performance pipes” (had that stamped right on the pipe). When Matt dyno’ed the bike there was actually a DECREASE in performance because the pipes were just not right for the bike. Matt has also begun to keep track of what bolt-on mods work well together with the bikes he sees more than once.
When you consider the high cost of performance parts and labour, it just makes sense to me to dyno the bike before and after any modifications. Then you have the peace of mind to know that your bike is operating safely and to brag about the numbers with confidence. With before and after dyno charts you can go back to the dealership if by some chance your dealer didn’t know what they were talking about... I think I have heard of that happening a time or two.

After I hopped up my bike and put in a Power Commander I was amazed within the difference in power. After I ran into the Rolling Thunder guys they convinced me to get a custom map instead of the downloaded map I already had. I wasn’t sure, but they promised it would be worth it so went ahead and did it. HOLY CRAP, my power went through the roof. My friends can’t keep up with me anymore and the bike purrs like a kitten. Best of all my mileage actually went up. When they told me that they could build different zones in each map I thought it was a sales pitch, but my bike doesn’t lie. I’ll never upgrade my bike without tuning it properly again.

My bike always ran good for me, but after I bought my trailer I couldn’t go through the mountains without shifting down two gears. When Matt ran the bike for me, he simulated having the trailer attached and found that I had a rich spot in my cruising range. Now I can go through mountains no problem and my tank lasts longer too.
